7. Chiropractic Care Improves Sacroiliac Join Pain – Sciatica starts in the lower back and often travels down the leg, making walking and other activities painful. It’s believed that the problem originated in the sacroiliac joint (SIJ). This is the joint between your hip (iliac) and tailbone (sacrum). In a scientific study, patients suffering from sciatica were divided into three groups and given physical therapy, corticosteroid injections or chiropractic care to relieve their pain. At the end of the 12-week study, 72 percent of the patients who received chiropractic adjustments reported significant improvement on their pain scores compared to only 20 percent of physical therapy patients and 50 percent of those who received injections. Further studies have shown manual adjustments to be effective in relieving sciatic pain even after surgery has not been successful.

8. Significantly Reduce Sports-Related Pain – With as many as 40 percent of all athletes suffering from back pain, finding a safe and effective means of relieving this pain is critical in order to stay off the sidelines and get back into the game. Although there are a wide variety of treatments available, chiropractic care has proven effective at returning athletes to their activities quickly. Doctors of chiropractic perform an analysis to determine the root cause of the pain, and then develop a care plan to address the source. This provides athletes with a non-invasive and drug-free means to relieve their pain.

9. Safest Option for Back Pain Patients – Chiropractic care has been safely relieving pain for over 100 years. In a recent Australian study, chiropractic adjustments and placebo treatments were performed on 183 patients that suffered from spinal pain. No significant difference in symptoms was found in either group, deeming chiropractic care to be safe and free of side-effects.
